| Fire and Explosive Investigation |
| The Fire District has developed a fire and explosive investigation unit with two primary functions.
| First, ten volunteer firefighters have received state certification as certified fire investigators and are charged with investigating fire cause and origin. If that investigation determines that a fire is of suspicious origin or arson, they are also certified and equipped to conduct a criminal investigation in conjunction with local law enforcement agencies.

Our fire and explosives investigation unit operates with a group of bomb technicians and explosive investigators.
Additionally, this team is properly equipped and has certified bomb disposal technicians who have been trained by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Following this five-week intensive training program, these technicians are certified to identify and disarm explosive devices. Through a joint agreement, these individuals are also resources to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Missouri State Highway Patrol and may be called upon to respond throughout the state of Missouri to support FBI or State Patrol activities when dealing with explosive ordinance identification and disposal.
