| Honor Guard |

The Honor Guard represents the Fire District at numerous ceremonial events.
The fire service is commonly called a para-military organization. There is a great deal of esprit de
corps and professionalism within the service. As a part of that ceremonial function, the Boone County Fire Protection District has created a Fire Department Honor Guard.
This honor guard serves at official functions of the Fire District and, from time to time, supports other community activities when there is a need for a formal organization to present the colors of our great country.
Additionally, the Boone County Fire Protection District honor guard has been called upon on numerous occasions to participate in fire department funerals throughout the state of Missouri and, each year, participates at the National Fallen Firefighters services during Fire Prevention Week at the National Fire Academy in Emittsburg, Maryland. This ceremony is conducted annually to recognize some 120 firefighters that die in the line of duty each year in our country.

Honor Guard members have participated in the National Fire Academy Fallen Firefighter Memorial Service.
