| Communications |
The communications network employed by the Fire District to mobilize the third largest fire department in the state of Missouri is rather extensive and very unique. The organization is dispatched by the Columbia/ Boone County Joint Communications Center, a communications center servicing all emergency services in Boone County.

Adequate communications is key to emergency scene operations.

The radio network, which supports the Boone County Fire Protection District, is extensive. It involves numerous pagers, portable radios, mobile radios, cell phones, satellite phones and various radio and telephone relays used to activate and move vast numbers of resources throughout Boone County as needs dictate.
|
The communications team is a group of volunteer firefighters with expertise in the area of communications and technology which, not only supports present day systems but more importantly, plans and anticipates future growth needs and designs systems to accommodate and support the organization in the future.
