The Boone County Fire Protection District and Missouri Task Force 1 operates the largest active volunteer staff of any fire service organization in the United States. The organization has a long-standing tradition of high-spirited volunteerism and has been become nationally and internationally known as a leader in the fire service due to the energy of the volunteers and the organization’s strong desire to accept new responsibilities and exciting challenges.

| While the Fire District has determined optimal staffing levels for its respective fire stations and specialty teams; there is, from time to time, a need for additional volunteers. To be a member and active volunteer participant of the Boone County Fire Protection District or Missouri Task Force 1 is to be held in very high regard in our community. The organization has established an extremely high level of respect and professionalism and it holds its commitment to the community in the highest order.
